The Best Ways To Use Your Snack Credits on the Disney Dining Plan

When you think of theme parks, you usually don’t think of delicious food. With Disney parks, you get an exception to that rule! Disney food is amazing and it’s no wonder that people keep coming back for more.

Guests who choose to stay on property for their Disney vacation have the option to take advantage of a Disney Dining Plan. There is a lot of discussion among Disney experts as to whether the dining plans are worth it or not, but in my opinion this add on is totally worth it if you strategize and make the most of it! (You can see some of my top tips for making the most of your Disney Dining Plan here!)

Each of the three different Disney Dining Plan options come with 2 snack credits per day. These snack credits are valid for most treats in the parks, and it’s a great way to try a lot of new tastes you’ve been eyeing up! Looking to make the most of your snack credits on your next Disney vacation? Here’s a few tips that will help you do just that!

Taste Treats Around The World

It’s no secret that Epcot is the unofficial headquarters for all Disney Festivals throughout the year. From International Festival of the Arts and Flower and Garden Festival in the beginning of the year to Food and Wine Festival and Festival of the Holidays at the end of the year, there’s always something exciting going on at this park! With each of these festivals comes unique experiences such as food and drink options, entertainment, and even interactive seminars. Did you know that your snack credits can be used towards food tastings around Epcot? This hack could be a great way to try new treats and tastes guilt-free and at no extra cost!

Pro Tip: Loving the Festival life? A quick service credit can also count as three snacks, so if you visit a booth that has a lot you’re willing to try this could be a great lunch option!

Pay Attention To Price

When it comes to snack credits, price is key. Snack options vary in cost so if you’re looking to stretch your dollar, the best bet is to choose more expensive snacks! For example a soft-serve ice cream cup or cone at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies on costs $3.99, but a specialty cupcake throughout Walt Disney World will cost around $5.99. Both options count as one snack credit, but one is obviously the better choice when it comes to price! A great rule of thumb is to try to choose treats that cost $5.00 or more. That way you know you’re getting the most out of your meal plan!

Treat Yo Self To A Trenta

Need to get your coffee fix before you conquer the kingdom? This next tip is for you! Not many know, but Starbucks drinks are also count as a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plans. And when I say Starbucks drinks, I mean all sizes! So treat yourself to a Trenta — you’ll need it for the long Disney day ahead. With Frappuccinos and Refreshers costing up to $5.79 for a Trenta, your wallet will thank you!

Pro Tip: Be sure to order a Trenta iced water with your coffee — its free! And you’ll enjoy that ice cold water as you venture back out into that Orlando heat.

Share When You Snack

Can we be real for a second? Disney portions can be huge sometimes when it comes to food! In my opinion, some snacks are no exception. If you’re with a friend, significant other, or family member who doesn’t mind sampling snacks together, I highly suggest it! Think about it: Your two snack credits per person can turn into four snacks or more. This is also a great strategy for those eying up two different treats — get one of each to share and skip the FOMO! Looking for some snack inspiration? Check out these fun treats now available at Walt Disney World!

Don’t Waste Em

This tip may seem pretty obvious, but it’s also very important. Don’t feel the need to grab a bottled Coke for $3.50 one day just to use your snack credit! Although guests are given two snack credits each day, your snacks will roll over until the end of your stay. So if one park day you only find yourself using one credit — no worries! You’ve got the rest of your trip to enjoy that second treat. When I’m on the Disney Dining Plan, I find that I only use one of my snack credits initially per day which makes for a really fun time using up any leftover credits to splurge on snacks at the end of the trip!

Pro Tip: Snack credits on the Disney Dining Plans don’t expire until 11:59 PM on the day you check out. So even after you’ve left your resort, feel free to keep snacking in the parks til midnight!
