My Flower and Garden Festival Favorites

It’s no secret that Flower and Garden Festival is my favorite to experience each year at Epcot. From the blooms to the bites it’s just my ideal way to celebrate the spring season! This year is the 25th Anniversary of Epcot’s International Flower and Garden, so everything spring was in full swing.

Epcot is featuring 15 outdoor kitchens at the festival this year with lots of delicious tastes to try. Today I’m sharing a my top five favorite tastes that I checked off of my Garden Passport from this year’s Flower and Garden Festival! (Check out my 2017 Flower and Garden Favorites here!)

Local Wildflower Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake

The Honey Bee-stro may be the new outdoor kitchen on the block this year, but I have to say it does not disappoint. Located in Showcase Plaza and hosted by the National Honey Board, Honey Bee-stro offers bites and sips that all feature a little something sweet –honey! From a Honey Tandoori Chicken Flatbread to a Honey-Peach Cobbler Freeze, there’s something for everyone. Being the self-proclaimed Cheesecake Connoisseur  that I am, I couldn’t wait to try their take on cheesecake!

The Local Wildflower Honey-Mascarpone Cheesecake is served with Orange Blossom Honey Ice Cream and garnished with Fennel Pollen Meringue Kisses. I absolutely loved this treat! With all the savory dishes around the festival, this sweet dessert was a fun change of pace. If you’re headed to the festival this year, be sure to stop by the Honey Bee-stro and try it for yourself!

Pork Taco

Confession Time: I’m usually not a taco person and actually the pickiest person on earth. I like to use the Epcot festivals as an excuse to step out of my comfort zone and I’m so glad I tried this! At Jardin de Fiestas in the Mexico Pavilion, you can find this amazing Pork Taco. It’s a slow-braised Pork Taco served with an Apple Relish, Goat Cheese, and Chile de Arbol Sauce!

I really loved the way that the different tastes and textures came together to make one amazing taco. In addition to the Pork Taco, Garden de Fiestas is offering Capirotada, Chilaquiles, and a few different flower-inspired drinks! I know I’ll be trying the Rose Margarita when I’m back at Flower and Garden in just a few days.

Toasted Pretzel Bread

The Germany Pavilion always seems to make my Flower and Garden Faves list! Last year I raved about their Potato Pancake with Caramelized Ham, Onions, and Herb Sour Cream. This year I’m all about the Toasted Pretzel Bread! Topped with Black Forest Ham and Melted Gruyere Cheese, this Toasted Pretzel Bread was two thumbs up for me.

The Baurenmarkt: Farmer’s Market offers tastes for everyone. From the Potato Pancakes to the Warm Cheese Strudel, it’s such a fun and tasty way to experience a new culture! One thing I’ll definitely be trying that I’ve heard great things about is the Hugo-Charles De Fee “Organic” Brut with Elderflower and Mint. (And grabbing another Toasted Pretzel Bread of course!)

Beef Brisket Burnt Ends and Smoked Pork Belly Slider

If you love all things BBQ, The Smokehouse: Barbecue and Brews at the American Adventure Pavilion does not disappoint! Offering some great American flavors all paired with a perfect brew. A Pulled Pig Slider, some Warm Chocolate Cake, and a Frozen Lemonade — sounds amazing right?!

Our All-American favorite this year was the Beef Brisket Burnt Ends and Smoked Pork Belly Slider! Served with Garlic Sausage, Chorizo, Cheddar Fondue, and a House-made Pickle, this slider is a pretty rave-worthy bite. I’ll definitely be back for seconds on my next Flower and Garden Festival adventure!

Watermelon Cucumber Slushy

This slush gives me all the spring vibes, amiright?! Don’t skip out on this sweet and guilt-free treat! Orlando’s heat is no joke, so this refreshing slush is just what you need to make it around the World Showcase. Want to try the recipe at home? Check it out here!

The Florida Fresh booth can be found between the Morocco and France Pavilions and has some fun Florida-inspired tastes! Spicy Blackened Shrimp and Cheddar Cheese Grits, Key Lime Tart, and Florida Orange Groves Winery Sparkling Key Lime Wine — Just to name a few. You can even try a Watermelon Cucumber Slushy with a twist by adding Tamiami Florida Gin to yours.

Epcot’s International Flower and Garden Festival provides tastes that can help you spring into the season! It’s not too late to see what all the buzz is about.
