Top Ways To ‘Celebrate HER Story’ For Women’s History Month at Disney

March is Women’s History Month and at Walt Disney World resort there are plenty of ways to ‘Celebrate HER Story.’ All month long this celebration is putting a spotlight on female cast members and Disney character heroines alike. If you’re visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth in the month of March, we’re sharing the top ways to ‘Celebrate HER Story’ for Women’s History Month.

Female Performers and Artists

Both Disney Springs and EPCOT are embracing Women’s History Month with live performances from female artists all month long. At Disney Springs on the AdventHealth Waterside Stage, a female DJ will lead a Disney sing-along for families on Friday and Saturday evenings. This Disney sing-along playlist will feature songs from some of Disney’s most inspirational female characters. You’ll also find that Disney Springs is featuring a variety of female performers most nights throughout this month!

Meanwhile at EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, this year’s Garden Rocks Concert Series includes several female artists in its lineup. Female performers for Garden Rocks in March include:

  • CeCe Winans – March 13-14, 2022
  • Hello Sister – March 15-17, 2022
  • Glass Ceiling – March 22-24, 2022
  • Melina Leon – March 11-12, 2022
  • Skillzmatic – March 29-31, 2022

Treats & Eats

No celebration at Walt Disney World would be complete without limited-time foods to try! From cupcakes and cake pops to arepas, meatballs, and more, you’re going to want to give this ‘Celebrate HER Story’ menu a look if you’re visiting in March.

 

Magic Kingdom

In honor of Women’s History Month, Magic Kingdom Park is serving up cupcakes to celebrate female Disney Imagineers whose work greatly impacted and influenced Walt Disney World resort. On Main Street, U.S.A. you’ll find a Cinderella Castle Mosaic Cupcake(a champagne-flavored cake filled with raspberry champagne compote topped with gold champagne buttercream, chocolate garnish, and colorful mosaic tile sprinkles) inspired by Dorothea Redmond. At Liberty Square Market a Madame Leota Cupcake(Chocolate-cherry cupcake filled with black cherry-lime cream and topped with blackberry buttercream and a Madame Leota chocolate garnish) inspired by Leota Toombs materializing. Last in Fantasyland at Friar’s Nook, you’ll spot the “it’s a small world” Cupcake (lemon funfetti cupcake, bright blue raspberry buttercream, and vanilla-lemon buttercream topped with a Small World clock face chocolate garnish) inspired by Mary Blair.

 

Disney Resort Hotels

From March 8, 2022 through the end of the month, Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will be offering limited-time eats and treats inspired by the women of Encanto.

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort will serve Chorizo Arepas, arepas topped with chorizo, onion-egg scramble, arugula, red pepper, and sliced avocado, and Mirabel Cupcake, cinnamon cupcake filled with custard and topped with coconut buttercream, toasted coconut, and Mirabel-inspired fondant garnishes.

Additional offerings at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort will be the Luisa Push-Up Cake Pop made with vanilla cake and tres leches pastry cream topped with a doughnut hole ‘boulder’ and a Encanto Cholado made with crushed ice topped with sliced fresh fruit, shredded coconut, and sweetened condensed milk.

 

Disney Springs

Select Disney Springs dining locations will showcase signature food and drinks for Women’s History Month. Carne Frita con Tostones (crispy pork shoulder tostones, citrus aioli, and pickled onions) presented by Sous Chef Natalie Floyd and Nona’s Home-Style Meatballs (Italian meatballs with basil pesto, scratch-made lemon ricotta, Sunday gravy, grilled focaccia crostini, grated pecorino cheese) presented by Sous Chef Lori Tiritilli at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. “The Passion of My Life” Dessert (pineapple, toasted coconut mousse, mango, coconut chiffon cake, infused passion fruit glacage, and white chocolate crisp pearls) presented by Pastry Chef Yoly Lazo Colon at Amorette’s Patisserie. Lady Tano Pop (plant-based coconut and blueberry swirled ganache topped with dark 65% chocolate) a concept by Chocolatier Katie Dodge presented by Chef Chocolatier Amanda Lauder at The Ganachery.
