The Ultimate Guide To Disney’s V.I.Passholder Event

When it comes to Walt Disney World, it’s great to be an Annual Passholder! From discounts to special gifts and park entrances, the perks can be a pretty exciting part of it. I’ve been a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder at a few different points in my life, but these past two years as an Annual Passholder have been my favorite so far! Walt Disney World recently started offering special events exclusively for their Annual Passholders, and I was lucky enough to get a ticket to one of them!

In the past, Disney has offered Passholder Preview experiences for exciting new park areas like Pandora or Toy Story Land, but this latest outing opportunity was something fairly new. The V.I.Passholder event gives Disney’s Annual Passholders the star treatment with an evening in a Disney park after hours!

This year Walt Disney World offered three different V.I.Passholder events for APs to sign up for. Annual Passholders were only allowed to attend one and spots for access to this event were limited!

The Event Dates For This Year Were:

Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Magic Kingdom from 10 PM to 12 AM

Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Epcot from 9 PM to 11 PM

Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Epcot from 9 PM to 11 PM

Walt Disney World Annual Passholders were sent an email back in July inviting them to register for one of the three events. Once the event was booked up, those lucky APs were set for a stress-free night out after hours! Participating APs were allowed to arrive as early as 4 PM on the day of the event, which allowed them to get into the park early and watch as the crowds began to leave for the night.

I was able to sign up for the last event on October 25, and as an out-of-state Annual Passholder I was excited to be able to fly over to Orlando for such a fun little event! Looking to become an Annual Passholder? Check out this post for more about the AP Perks!

Event Attractions

One of the main perks of this event was the very short lines for all attractions! 15 minute wait for Frozen Ever After? Yes PLEASE. Here’s a full list of the attractions that were available at my V.I.Passholder Event!

Vanilla Cupcake with Oreo Buttercream

Event Foods

Although most of the Global Marketplaces for Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival closed along with the park at 9PM, there were still about 12 that remained open for the the AP event! In addition to festival offerings, there were two Passholder-exclusive food offerings available for purchase around Epcot.

  • Karamelpudding at Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in the Norway Pavilion
  • Vanilla Cupcake with Oreo Buttercream topped with a White Chocolate Annual Passholder Coin at Sunshine Seasons in the Land Pavilion.

It was a fun adventure scouting out these unique treats to try, but I have to admit between the two of them the Vanilla Cupcake was by far my favorite!

Karamelpudding

Aside from the short lines and after hours time in my favorite Walt Disney World park, I think my favorite part of the event was how empty the park was! In a usual Disney day scenario, the parks are much more packed which made for a nice change of pace. Also, you really can’t beat empty park pictures, amiright?

Looking back on the fun I had, I’m so thankful I got to experience on of Walt Disney World’s V.I.Passholder events! The concept is very similar to their Disney After Hours event which requires an extra fee, so getting a similar experience for free is pretty amazing in my opinion. Here’s to being an AP for as long as possible!

Walt Disney World has continued to add new offering for their Annual Passholders over the past few years. Instead of just a discounted rate of merchandise, we also have access to special event gifts like the adorable Passholder magnets they’ve been giving out recently! This year for the Epcot International Food and Wine Festival, APs who visited the festival four times got a Passholder-exclusive cutting board! I think the V.I.Passholder Event was another successful Annual Passholder perk that I hope will be offered for years to come. Next on my Passholder bucket list? A Passholder Preview!
