A Ride on the Swan Paddleboats at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin

This past weekend Nick and I celebrated our 4th anniversary of our engagement (in Magic Kingdom! Read about it here.) and our 3rd wedding anniversary at the Most Magical Place on Earth! Since I am the only Annual Passholder in our little family, we opted out from in-park activities and just enjoyed the rest of the Walt Disney World property. If you visit Walt Disney World quite often, I highly suggest trying a chill, weekend trip like this! Sometimes it’s nice to just focus on the amenities of the resort instead of going 200% in the parks all day.

For the majority of our weekend stayed at the stunning Walt Disney World Swan Hotel. In my opinion this hotel is a best kept secret for Epcot & Disney’s Hollywood Studios lovers because it’s just so close to the magic! Since it’s not a Disney Resort hotel, room rates are significantly cheaper than the surrounding Deluxe Resorts all while enjoying the same location-based amenities. I plan to write quite a few little posts about the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin and its many perks — so keep an eye out for those in the near future!

As we were exploring the grounds of the resort one night, Nick and I noticed a few cute, Swan Paddleboats sitting in one of the surrounding lakes. We inquired about the paddleboats the next day and I have to say this fun little activity was one of my favorite parts from our weekend! Here’s everything you need to know about booking on of these quaint little boats.

Swan Paddleboat Rides are complimentary for guests of the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin. In a vacation destination where there are constant uncharges, we were excited to experience this fun freebie! Swan Paddleboat Rides can last up to 30 minutes and just require you to grab a Swan Paddleboat Pass from Cabana Beach Hut near the Grotto Pool. At the Cabana Beach Hut you’ll just provide your name, number of passengers, and your room number at the Swan or Dolphin.

Once you’ve got your Swan Paddleboat Pass, bring it to the attendant at the end of the dock and grab your life jackets! You’ll enjoy up to 30 minutes of cruising on the lake all awhile enjoying the views of the resort’s grounds. There are only four boats, and since there are so many other amenities on property it’s pretty likely you’ll have this quaint little lake all to yourself!

According to the resort’s website (swandolphin.com) the Swan Paddleboats are open daily from 11 AM to 6 PM as long as weather is permitting. After your ride is over, just make your way back to the dock and enjoy one of the many other amenities offered around the resort. Take a dip in one of their many pools, grab a snack at Fuel, or book a couples massage at Mandara!

Walt Disney World is so much more than four theme parks. It’s one of the top vacation destinations in the world! The Walt Disney World Resort and its many surrounding Resort hotels offer additional activity options for guests in any age group. If you’re planning on staying at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin, be sure to add the Swan Paddleboats to do you must do list! Whether you’re on a romantic weekend getaway or a full-blown family vacation, this activity is one that’s equal parts relaxation and recreation that is fun for everyone.
