The Ultimate Guide to Star Wars Experiences at Walt Disney World Resort

May the Fourth Be With You, And Also With You. Happy Star Wars Day, y’all! Last week I shared some treats to look out for at Walt Disney World this week for May the Fourth, but today we’re digging even deeper into the Star Wars Day activities. Whether you’re spending this May the Fourth at the Most Magical Place on Earth or planning for a future adventure, today I’m sharing everything Star Wars you can experience at Walt Disney World Resort.

Star Wars Attractions & Experiences

The home park for all things Star Wars at Walt Disney World Resort is Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This park allows guests to live out their own adventure inspired by some of Disney’s most popular film franchises. Here’s every Star Wars attraction you can experience at Walt Disney World resort right now!

Droid Depot

Have you ever dreamed of building your very own droid? At Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, you finally can! You start by selecting a BB-Series or R-Series unit, then you make your way to the build station to customize your creation. Each droid unit does cost $99.99 plus tax, and advance reservations are highly recommended.

Droid Depot is located near Savi’s Workshop on your way out of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge near Toy Story Land. It’s available daily from park open to park close, but advance reservations are highly recommended to secure your spot!

Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run

Most Star Wars fans have dreamed of riding in the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon, and thanks to this Disney’s Hollywood Studios attraction guests can check this item off of their bucket list. You’ll be assigned to the position of Pilot, Engineer, or Gunner for your adventure — and every position is important! At the end of your journey, you’ll be able to add “rode on the Millennium Falcon through hyperspace” to your resume.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is located in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge between Oga’s Cantina and Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo. Guests must be at least 38″ to ride, and Millennium Falcon is available from park open to park close daily! Pro Tip: Here’s a guide on how to unlock “Chewie Mode” on your next Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run adventure!

Savi’s Workshop – Handbuilt Lightsabers

Much like building your own droid, most Star Wars fans have also dreamed about crafting their very own lightsaber. Only on Batuu can you make this dreama reality! At Savi’s Workshop, guests can choose their path on their Star Wars adventure and assemble their lightsaber. Each lightsaber unit will cost $219.99 plus tax, and advance reservations for this experience are highly recommended.

Savi’s Workshop can be found between Droid Depot and Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This experience is available daily from park open to park close, but advance reservations are highly recommended to secure your spot!

Star Tours — The Adventures Continue

Enjoy a thrilling journey across multiple Star Wars destinations on this motion-simulator based adventure across the galaxy! You’ll encounter some of your favorite Star Wars characters and experience sequences from the Star Wars films — including Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. There are over 50 different possible combinations on this attraction, so you’ll enjoy a different experience every time!

Star Tours — The Adventures Continue is located on Grand Ave. near Muppet*Vision 3D and the entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Guests must be at least 40″ tall to ride, and Star Tours — The Adventures Continue is also available from park open to park close daily!

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

This innovative attraction is the most advance ride experience yet at Disney Parks. Guests join the Resistance in an epic battle against the First Order, putting you right in the middle of the action you’ve come to love from Star Wars! If you’re spending your day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, chances are you’re counting down to experiencing Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.

Something else that’s unique to Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is its Virtual Queue system. Guests with a valid park ticket and theme park reservation to Disney’s Hollywood Studios have two opportunities each day to try and secure their spot in the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue. The Virtual Queue opens at 7:00 AM each morning, and guests can attempt to secure their place right from their hotel room! The other time that the Virtual Queue opens for the day is at 2:00 PM. Once you’ve been assigned your Boarding Group in the Virtual Queue, it’s a waiting game until your group is called. I personally love this system because once you’ve secured your boarding group you’re free to enjoy the other attractions around Disney’s Hollywood Studios instead of waiting in line all day.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge right as you enter through the tunnel. Guests must be at least 40″ tall to ride, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is available from park open to park close through the Virtual Queue onlyPro Tip: Take lots of photos and videos while experiencing this attraction! You’re going to want to be able to relive this adventure once you head home from your vacation.
