Disney Eats: San Angel Inn

In my opinion, happiness is a great Disney dining reservation! Over my past few trips, I’ve had the chance to check out different restaurants on the Walt Disney World property and it’s been such a fun time. My family loves going out to eat every Friday night as a tradition back home to catch up on everything that has been going on all week, and we like to do something similar on our Disney trips too!

For our recent trip in February, we made reservations at the San Angel Inn. I was pretty excited to eat here again because the last time I did I was a kid!

San Angel Inn is the restaurant located inside of the Mexico pavilion. What makes this restaurant stand out to me is the beauty of the inside of this pavilion! I’ve always loved the look of the marketplace in a nighttime atmosphere. It’s where the beautiful and colorful pieces that are for sale at the surrounding carts get a chance to shine!

The Mexico pavilion is one of two current World Showcase locations that have a ride experience, (with the France pavilion joining the Mexico and Norway pavilions in the near future!) so growing up it was always one of my favorites to visit when we were in Epcot!

The nighttime feel of the Mexico pavilion and a restaurant offering beautiful views of the Gran Fiesta Tour boat ride while you dine makes for an amazing meal experience! Luckily this is possible thanks to the San Angel Inn.

When it comes to foods I tend to be a picky eater, (I like what I like, okay?) so I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous about trying to find something on the menu. I decided to be a little adventurous, and instead of ordering an entree myself I made a point to try what everyone else was enjoying! This ended up being a total success and I highly recommend for any other picky eaters out there.

Tacos de Carne

Kevin is a tacos man through and through so he decided to try the Tacos de Carne. This entree comes with grilled sirloin, black beans, and poblano peppers served with guacamole and corn tortillas. Our server is an amazing job of catering to Kevin’s additional taco needs by bringing him all of his favorite fixings like lettuce, cheese, and sour cream. This meal is a great option for taco lovers.

Pescado a La Talla

Paris went with the Pescado a La Talla. I would have to say that this entree was the winner at the table! Your meal comes with the Achiote marinated catch of the day served with creamy poblano potatoes topped with queso fresco and crema Mexicana served with plantains. All of the exciting flavors together were just delicious and the next time I visit San Angel Inn, this will be what I order!

Catch of the Day A la Veracruzana

My mom ordered one of the Chef’s Recommendations, which was the Catch of the Day A la Veracruzana. This entree comes with their featured fish of the day served atop roasted potatoes with cilantro-lime vinaigrette and Veracruzana sauce made with capers, olives, bell peppers, Spanish onions, and tomatoes. While we loved the surrounding flavors and meal as a whole, we found that the fish was very hard to cut. Other than this we had no complaints!

San Angel Inn is open for lunch and dinner daily and offers a special and unique dining experience in the $$ ($15-$34.99 per adult) price range. Like many of my recent dining choices, this is a great Table Service option for those taking advantage of the dining plan. If you’re an Annual Passholder like me, you’ll be happy to hear that San Angel Inn offers a Passholder discount!

As someone looking to enjoy the beauty and culture of the World Showcase without a ton of hustle and bustle to get a reservation, I’d say that the San Angel Inn is an ideal dining option! Beautiful scenery, great food, and an amazing staff–what more could you ask for really?

After all these years, it was so nice to check out the San Angel Inn again! I can’t say enough about the amazing service and food. (We left some Cast Compliments of course!)

A meal at San Angel Inn is pretty good in my book!
