A Mermazing Night At Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

“Isn’t this great? The salty sea air, the wind blowing in your face. Aaah, the perfect day to be at sea!”

This year I got to attend my second Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party with some of my favorite Disney people! Last year Nick and I attended the party as Barbie and Ken from Toy Story 3 and it was one of my favorite Disney memories to date. When my friends Adam, Jenn, and Zeinab asked if I’d want to attend the party with them last month, I was on board immediately!

Since there would be four of us we wanted to put together a fun and easy group costume. Adam and Jenn decided to dress as Flounder and Ariel, and Zeinab came up with the idea of a skeleton Ariel! Determined to find a quick and easy costume from what I had in my closet, the idea of Prince Eric came to mind.

I know what you’re probably thinking — “Why not Ursula, Kait?” Honestly, villains just really aren’t my thing and I didn’t have anything that screamed “Ursula” in my closet! My mind immediately went to Sebastian, Scuttle, or Prince Eric. Once I realized I had a white button up and a navy skirt in my closet, I knew Prince Eric was the winner! With just a few simple accessories I’d have my look together in no time!

Pro Tip: A white button up and a navy skirt are also great costume essentials for a Mary Poppins look as well!

Once I grabbed some red satin ribbon, my black canvas sneakers, and a black bow for my hair to represent his hair color, I was Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party-ready.

On the night of the party our costumes were a hit! Since Magic Kingdom features Prince Eric’s castle and an entire Ariel-themed section in New Fantasyland, we had plenty of opportunities to take photos. After the sun went down it was all about trick-or-treating and enjoying the most spooktacular party of the year!

If you’ve never had the chance to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, I’d highly recommend going at least once. Any time at the Most Magical Place on Earth is fun, but there’s just something special about getting dressed up as your favorite character, trick-or-treating around the park, and experiencing event-exclusive shows, attractions, and more!

As the spooky season comes to an end, I’m so thankful I got to experience this year’s Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party with some of my favorite people. Believe it or not, all three of these friends were made on the internet and live nowhere near me! How cool is it that we can connect with people from all over and create such deep friendships? They told us not to talk to strangers on the internet, but most of my friends today are from the internet. Life is WILD!

So if you’re planning to attend Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, but don’t want to break your bank for a costume keep this fun group costume idea in mind. With just a few touches I was able to turn two closet staples into a quick and comfortable Prince Eric-inspired costume! If only I would’ve grabbed a Max plush, this look would’ve been perfection. Check out my outfit details below!
