Disney Eats: ‘Ohana

Aloha Cousin! We’re about to talk one of the most sought after dining reservations in all of Walt Disney World. Disney’s Polynesian Resort is home to quite a few themed dining options including Kona Cafe (you can read all about my Kona Cafe breakfast experience here!) and of course ‘Ohana!

Stich Juice (Made of Papaya, Orange, and Guava Juices!)

‘Ohana is a very unique dining experience because for breakfast it’s an all-you-care-to-enjoy character dining meal, but at night for dinner the characters are gone and the focus is on the Hawaiian cuisine. I recently picked up a last minute breakfast reservation at ‘Ohana and even all these years later it was pure magic!

Meet and Greet with Pluto

Your reservation starts by checking in at the front desk, then grabbing a few quick pictures with Pluto! When you walk up to check in for you meal it’s pretty likely that there’s going to be a really long line. Don’t be alarmed by this! If it makes you feel better, arrive a little early — but I can attest that they will still seat you if you arrive late for your reservation. (You may just have a bit of a wait, but it beats a cancelled reservation!)

‘Ohana’s Signature Pineapple-Coconut Breakfast Bread

After pictures with Pluto, you’ll wait to receive a text notification that your table is ready. A ‘Cousin’ will greet you and you’re off to your table! The dining room for ‘Ohana is just gorgeous! With so much natural light and great views of the water, it’s easy to sit back and relax at this reservation.

Meet and Greet with Lilo

The meal begins with “Stitch Juice” (POG Juice) and their signature Pineapple-Coconut Breakfast Bread and butter! If you’re not a coconut fan like me, focus on the middle of the bread. After the bread there’s a plate of fruit, and ours included pineapple, watermelon, and cantaloupe. If we’re being honest, the seasonal fruit is the least exciting part of the meal! The all-you-care-to-enjoy feast and Pineapple-Coconut Breakfast Bread definitely make up for it though.

Seasonal Fruit Tray

While you’re enjoying your food, Lilo, Stitch, and Hawaiian Mickey are all making their way around to the tables to meet all the guests! Don’t be shy to snap a few pictures. They love to interact and this is really the only place you can meet Lilo and Hawaiian Mickey!

Meet and Greet with Mickey

When it comes time for the all-you-care-to-enjoy platter, feel free to get your fill! If your party finishes the entire platter, your server will be happy to bring you a new one. The platter includes a selection of island-style potatoes, scrambled eggs, pork sausage links, Hawaiian-style ham topped with Pineapple Compote, buttery biscuits, Mickey Waffles, and Stitch Waffles! While Mickey Waffles are pretty common around Walt Disney World resort, ‘Ohana offers special Stitch Waffles that any Lilo & Stitch lover would be excited to see.

All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Breakfast Platter

If someone in your party has dietary restrictions, your server is happy to modify the breakfast options for you! That’s one great thing about Walt Disney World. They are always prepared to make any guest’s experience as magical as it can be.

Meet and Greet with Stitch

After you get your fill of a delicious ‘Ohana breakfast and say Aloha to all of the characters, take a minute to sit back and enjoy! No matter which park you’re headed to for the day, it can wait. Take a few moments to soak in those relaxing Polynesian Resort vibes!

Stitch Waffles

Speaking of park days — I cannot recommend enough the idea of a late breakfast reservation! Whether you wake up just in time for the reservation, or cover a little ground at Magic Kingdom before riding the monorail over to the Polynesian, you’ll be happy you did that later breakfast reservation. For an all-you-care-to-enjoy meal like this, you can get your fill of delicious food now and be able to hold out for an early dinner! This gives you plenty more time to enjoy all of the park activities without stopping for a quick bite.

More on Kait Around The Kingdom:   Beauty and the Beach

The best way to get a guarenteed ‘Ohana breakfast reservation is by booking 180 days in advance of course. I’m going to share a secret with you guys though — many of these hard-to-get reservations tend to pop up 1-2 days out as well! My friend and I booked this reservation the day before, and on trips since I’ve been able to find rare dining options like this popping up on the My Disney Experience App. So if you don’t have great luck at the 180 day window, book other options but keep checking for reserved dining options on My Disney Experience once you’ve made it to Orlando! You never know what magical meal you’ll find a last minute reservation for.

‘Ohana is open for breakfast daily from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM and for dinner daily from 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM! This meal also counts as one table-service credit on the Disney Dining Plan, so any Dining Plan users keep this meal option in mind. You can view the breakfast menu here and the dinner menu here!
