International Designs Join Most Magical Park Moments Collection
In case you missed it, when we started our company in November 2022, we launched with six designs. The six necklaces represented the Disney Parks around the United States. Each necklace had a unique font inspired by the park it represented and of course featured the park’s opening year. The idea for our entire company was based around this concept — a subtle touch of Disney style that could be worn both in and out of the parks!
Today we offer more than 40 products on our website. We’ve come a long way since our original six in the Most Magical Park Moments collection, but we wanted to fold in two more important park openings — Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. World of Wonderrepresents Tokyo Disneyland and Heart of Euro represents Disneyland Paris!
World of Wonder
Back in 1983, a World of Wonder first opened its gates, and the way we look at theme parks was forever changed.
This necklace is inspired by Disney’s first international park. The magic of Disney was brought to Tokyo in 1983, less than a year after EPCOT Center opened in Orlando, Florida. Known as the Kingdom of Family Dreams, Tokyo Disneyland pulled favorites from the two existing Disney Parks at the time, Disneyland and Magic Kingdom.
Construction for the park took two years and four months. When the park opened in 1983, it boasted 114 acres, making it the largest Disneyland-style park at the time! Over time the property has added a second theme park and six themed resort hotels.
While you may notice some similarities like Cinderella Castle, there’s so much that makes this special park all its own. Colorful and exciting attractions like Pooh’s Hunny Hunt can only be found here! And let’s not forget about what this resort is known for — its AMAZINGmerchandise and inventive food and snacks.
In preparation for this launch, we got to take a trip through the journey of this special park. From original ads to celebrate the park’s opening to special songs created for its 25th anniversary celebration, we found so many gems. One of my favorites is a quote from a song from the 25th anniversary celebration, The Dream Goes On! It states, “Wonder never fades here, memories are made here.”
Josie and I both hope to visit Tokyo Disney Resort someday, but for now it’s got a permanent place on our bucket lists!
Heart of Euro
Take a journey with us to the Heart of Euro, where magic comes alive in the city of love, Paris!
After opening two more parks in the United States, Disney expanded its parks once again to another international destination. In1992, Euro Disney opened as Disney’s first European theme park. This park brought a real land of make believe to the heart of Euro!
This Euro Disney’s centerpiece, like Disneyland’s, is Sleeping Beauty Castle, but you’ll quickly see that this castle is its own work of art. Inspired by various French monuments, this Sleeping Beauty Castle is the most fairytale-inspired in appearance. It also has a dragon residing beneath it! In addition to this one-of-a-kind castle, Disneyland Paris also features the only Space Mountain-style attraction with inversions.
After only two years, the park’s name would change to Disneyland Paris, the name we still know today! Over the past three decades, this European resort has seen the addition of a second gate and seven themed resort hotels.
Much like with our World of Wonder design, I had so much fun looking back on the 3+ decades of ads a promotions for Disneyland Paris! From fun phrasing like “real land of make believe” and “the land where wishes come true” to the colorful and memorable commercials, this special park has had quite a journey. I’ll leave a fun compilation of Disneyland Paris ads I found below!
Josie has been fortunate enough to visit, but I haven’t made it to any international Disney Parks just yet. Maybe we need to get some SCC International Disney Trips booked!
