Southern Charm in the French Quarter

“Grab somebody, come on down
Bring your paintbrush, we’re painting the town
There’s some sweetness going around
Catch it down in New Orleans”

For as long as I can remember, a day visit to New Orleans was always a treat! My recent trip was no exception. There’s nothing like walking around the city and taking in all of the sights, sounds, and smells of NOLA. After a busy morning of touring the city, we got dropped off in Jackson Square and took a little tour of our own around the French Quarter!

My inspiration for my NOLA look was Tiana and Lottie on the town. Since Lottie has a big personality, I felt the bright pink top was a perfect representation! The touches of blue and green reminded me of Tiana’s dresses in The Princess and the Frog.

To make this top even more fitting for New Orleans, the print is “Southern Charm!” I couldn’t think of a more perfect name when I think of the spirit of the city. (Find the same top in a different print here.) Plus it’s Lilly Pulitzer, so it’s gorgeous!

I paired my top with some white shorts and mint green penny loafers. Since Louisiana is known for its heat and humidity, I kept my outfit light and breezy.

To accessorize, I wore my Mikimoto pearl bracelet with matching necklace and a rose gold Lillian & Co bracelet. Start your own Lillian & Co collection by using code “KAIT10” for a magical discount! My champagne gold Michael Kors tote was perfect for walking around NOLA. It held everything I needed allowing me to walk around freely.

I couldn’t have asked for a better day in the Big Easy. Despite our worries of Louisiana summer heat, the day was cloudy which made for more bearable weather and more time spent enjoying it!

If you ever find yourself down in New Orleans, be sure to do a little exploring. You’ll find southern charm around every corner!

I love the green penny loafers! I wear a ton of black but I like to accessorize with really colorful shoes. New Orleans is on my bucket list! There are so many beautiful, historic buildings there to explore. I thought Disney did such a great job with the Princess and the Frog!
