Five Tips To Be The Best Maid Of Honor Ever

So it happened. Your best friend has asked you to be her Maid of Honor in her wedding! This is a big deal, so get excited! You’re going to be right in the middle of all the wedding planning fun and let me tell you it’s a blast.  To make sure that you are #MOHGoals, pop some bubbly, grab a few bridal magazines, and follow these pro tips!

1. Be Her Person

Planning a wedding is an exciting time, but it doesn’t come without its stresses.  Your bestie needs your support to make this dream wedding a reality! Whether she needs a shoulder to cry on, a shopping buddy, or an envelope stuffer, you’re her girl. There’s a reason that you were chosen for this role, so don’t let her down!

2. Unite The “I Do Krewe”

Do your best to get to know her other bridesmaids! You’re going to be spending a lot of time together over the next few months, so why not make the most of it? Arranging a dinner for just you and the other bridesmaids is a great way to break the ice!

3. Find Out What She Really Wants

After becoming Maid of Honor, you’ll be the main point of contact for all things wedding! On top of wedding details, there are parties and events to plan as well. Before booking a whole trip or shower venue, make sure to consult with the bride first! Even if an event is a surprise, try to communicate with the bride as much as possible. A happy bride will make for a fun wedding experience!

4. Help Her Get Dressed

A bride’s wedding attire is a lot more than just a white dress these days. Between shoes, garters, and a veil there are a lot of extra pieces involved in her ensemble! While she’s getting dressed make sure to be her right hand girl. If she’s changing into another outfit at the reception, it’s your job to assist as well!

5. Bring The Enthusiasm

A wedding is an all day event and your bestie needs you now more than ever! On the day of, don’t forget to bring a positive attitude. Although the day might seem to drag by the end of the night, be sure to keep your spirits up! You can always catch up on sleep the next day after the best day ever has officially ended.

Well Maid of Honor, now it’s your time to shine! Wedding planning is under way and the big day will be here before you know it. Being named #MOHGoals is definitely possible, so remember these tips and go out there and be the best Maid of Honor ever!

This is great advice – I wish there had been a list like this available to the girl who was supposed to be my maid of honour. Maybe I wouldn’t have had to kick her out of the wedding party after she terrorised all my bridesmaids and demanded more of me than I ever asked of her and tried to hijack the whole wedding to be about her.

What beautiful wedding photos you have (and these are only a few of the many, I know!). I’ve never been asked to be a maid of honor (or a matron of honor since I’m married), but I’ve been a bridesmaid twice. I did expect these things from my maid of honor, though, and both my husband and I were truly happy to have made the right choice in getting her to be one at our wedding. 🙂
