How to Make the Most of Your Disney Road Trip

Road trips can be tough, believe me I know! Our family tradition is a road to Walt Disney World for Mardi Gras. Every year we travel 620 miles from Slidell, Louisiana to Orlando, Florida to have a week of fun and an escape from reality. With the time change and food and gas stops, we are looking at about a 10 hour drive. Since I’ve done this trip quite a few times already, I’ve put together a list of my tips to make the time fly!

1. Keep the Tunes Playing

Road trips can seem to drag on, but music can help to pass the time! It’s a tradition for our family every year to have a Disney Trip CD created for the car ride. Our soundtrack usually includes Disney attraction favorites, some Aerosmith, and other upbeat songs to keep the party going!

2. Stop Strategically

There’s no need to make the trip longer than necessary. On such a long drive it’s important to try to handle everything in one stop! Our usual goal is to try to make it halfway through the drive, stop for lunch, and fill up on gas. Once we’re all situated, it’s back on the road to finish the trek to Orlando.

3. Disney Park Trivia

What better way to get in the Disney spirit than with some Disney Park news?! I’m the Disney Connoisseur of the family, so I’m usually the one providing the fun facts and Disney attraction spiel. With so many new things always happening at Disney, it’s easy to find topics to pass the time.

Oh my goodness I miss Disney World so bad. I went there back in 2008 whilst I was visiting my relatives in Florida and I’ve wanted to go back ever since. I’m going to take my kids there one day 🙂
