Five Reasons To Use Disney’s Memory Maker

Whether it’s your first trip or you’ve gone before, Walt Disney World’s Memory Maker program is a must.  A Disney vacation can get expensive, but Memory Maker should definitely be in the budget!  While the advantages of Memory Maker are endless, I have narrowed it down to the main pros of the program!

Everyone Makes The Photo

One of the biggest issues of vacation photos is trying to make a group shot happen.  Whether you’re trying to work with the self timer on the camera or waiting for a stranger to walk by and agree to take the photo, it’s always more of a headache than necessary.  With Memory Maker, everyone in the group can pose for the shot!  Disney Photopass photographers are happy to take those group pictures that your party will cherish for years to come.

Ride Photos

One of my favorite features of the Memory Maker program is that it also includes your ride photos during your trip.  Before Memory Maker, your only option for obtaining these photos is paying for the prints.  The minimum package pricing for ride photos is around $15.  With the Memory Maker program, you pay one flat rate for unlimited ride photos!

The cost of the advanced purchase Memory Maker package is a flat rate of $149.  While this fee may seem steep, you have to take into consideration all that the program includes. On my average 5-Day Disney trips, I take a minimum of 300 photos during that period of time.  With Photopass locations all over the parks and no cap on how many photos you can take, the photo possibilities are endless!

Photo Download Ability

Once you’ve purchased Memory Maker, you’re given several ways to view and download your photos.  At the end of your trip, you can visit your My Disney Experience profile and download your entire album.  Disney gives you the freedom to send those downloads to get printed, just like you would for your family camera!  Want access to the photos immediately? By using your My Disney Experience app, you can view and download your photos straight to your phone.  This is a great way to pass the time while waiting in long lines.

Magic Photos

Posed photos are nice, but Disney takes Memory Maker to the next level with Magic Photo opportunities.  Based on your location in the different parks, there are unique Magic Photos available to take.  In the moment, you’re given posing directions, but you have no idea what the magic touch will be.  It’s fun to check your photos later and see what character or Disney touch made an appearance in your vacation photos.

Memory Maker has definitely become one of my favorite parts of my vacations to Walt Disney World.  This tool is perfect for any vacation situation whether you’re an annual passholder or a first time visitor!  Between food, tickets, transportation, and hotels, don’t forget to include Memory Maker as a part of your trip to Walt Disney World.  You won’t regret all the extra memories you’ll make!

We are using memory maker for our trip in January! I’m so excited to not have to ask random people to take pictures that come out blurry anyway.

  • I will keep that in mind next time I go to Disney World. I liked the photos. I’m glad you had a great time there. I’ve been there once when I was a kid.

  • Great post. loved all your pictures. I have been to Disney land once a long long time ago. You definitely inspired me to plan another trip, and I would defiantly us the Disney memory maker pass 🙂

  • These photos alone are enough to convince me to invest into the memory maker programme. What a lovely idea!

  • This is so cool! I would definitely go for it! If I’m not stressed about taking photos, I would definitely have more fun and have also lots of photos in the end!

  • To be able to get all your photos and all the special effects is a lovely way to remember your trip. Love the Tinkerbell wings one.

  • I love disney! I haven’t been in so long, but next time I go I’ll definitely have to use the memory maker. Awesome idea!

  • I’ll be the weirdo here, but I’ve never been to Disney park…But if I go, I’ll remember this post and memory maker 🙂

  • Wow didn’t know you could do this at Disneyland. I guess in your case it was useful to have the memory maker. Love the photos as well btw!

  • It seems like you’ve had a blast out there. A trip to Disneyland is something you are never too old for, so I hope one day I’ll checked it of my travel list!

Great idea and often people are too busy to undertake some of these things themselves http://www.thecornishhouse.com

Cute Pictures! Memory Maker is a great Disney value!

I love that pic with the balloons!

We used Memory maker for the first time this past June and it was totally worth it! My husband made a book out of all of our memory maker photos for me for Christmas 🙂 Great post!

  • I’m NOT photogenic AT ALL, so even though I think this might be included in my annual pass, I never use it. Will be nice for when friends come to town to visit though!

  • Memory Maker is a staple for me! It’s a great way to keep the entire family in the shot and find some magic in your photo when you see them on-line. Great piece!

  • We used Memory Maker at WDW for the first time in November – it was amazing and I agree with all of your points. The program at Disneyland is slightly different and we’re hoping the Disneyland Photo Pass program continues to improve to be on par with its counterpart in Florida. Great post – thanks for sharing!

  • I love memory maker, but even moreso now that it’s included in my annual pass! It’s really nice not having to worry about handing off my camera every time I want a photo.
